Information about the world of telephones and computers written from the perspective of 'computer hackers' and 'phone phreaks.' Emphasizes privacy and security issues.
This is a great quarterly magazine of hacker culture, technology news and quirky tips, computer tricks, and security exploits. It is run by Emmaneul Goldstein (real name is Eric Corley) and is headquartered in New York. It is the real thing minus all of the TV glamour and hype about how glittery hackers are. In here you will find both serious technical data and geeky entertainment fun. This is one of the last alternative news magazines that is worth a damn and isn't too concerned with catering to advertisers or being too politically correct. I don't always agree with them and what is said, but they are interesting to listen too and aren't always trying to pitch and sell you something.
